Dr Huiyu Zhou
Contact Details Title: Research Assistant Research Lab: Multimedia and Vision Group Supervisor: Dr Andrea Cavallaro Research Topic: Multi-modal object tracking in a network of audiovisual sensors Research interests: Computer vision, image understanding, intelligent devices, medical instrumentation, telemedicine and biomedical sensors BiographyHuiyu Zhou obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China in 1990, and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Dundee of Scotland in 2002, respectively. He was then awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Vision from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, 2006. Since 1990, he has worked in the Guangxi Medical University, China, Elscint Ltd., Israel, University of Essex, UK, etc. He has taken part in research projects related to medical image processing (MR, CT and ultrasonic modalities), obstacle detection, and human motion detection. Currently, he is working towards exploring a new strategy for multi-modal object tracking in a network of audiovisual sensors.
