Panel: EvaluationWednesday 12 Sept 2007Evaluation has recently become a crucial issue in the field of blind source separation, due to the exploding number of available algorithms. Large-scale evaluations typically facilitate progress in a mature field by revealing the effects of different choices in algorithm design, promoting common test data and evaluation criteria and attracting the interest of funding bodies. The ICA 2007 conference features the results of the first Stereo Audio Source Separation Evaluation Campaign. This panel will discuss experience with this evaluation campaign and related competitions, including the two Pascal Speech Separation Challenges, and explore possibilitites for future regular evaluation campaigns for all kinds of data.
