(BSc with honors) in Media Computer Science from Media University Stuttgart, Germany in 2004. Thereafter he worked as Software Engineer in the Consumer Electronics Industry in California, USA. Markus Brenner received a Master in Computing from the Australian National University, Australia in 2009. He was with Fraunhofer Research Society, NICTA (National ICT Australia) and National University Singapore for his diploma thesis, a master project and a research internship. Markus Brenner is currently pursuing a PhD degree at the Multimedia and Vision (MMV) Research Group, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Queen Mary University of London, UK. His general research interests are in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval and Data Mining -- all within the context of Consumer Photo Collections. At this time he focuses on how context (e.g. social semantics or clothing) can be leveraged to aid recognition of subjects as well as other domains like events. |
