Research Group: Multimedia and Vision Research Group

Supervisor: Prof Ebroul Izquierdo

Research Topic: Surveillance-Centric Coding

Research Scope: Video codecs available today have been developed for visual sensitive applications. These codecs are not much efficient for the surveillance systems. Therefore, we need to develop a coding scheme which is specific to surveillance system to improve the efficiency. One possible approach is to use Scalable Video Coding framework that can be adapted for surveillance-centric coding.

Research Contribution: The main goal of the research will be to develop and implement a highly efficient coding scheme which will be specific to surveillance system.

Research interests: Video and Image Processing, Video Coding, Coding Algorithms
