Abstract:

Large digital music collections require efficient ways to explore and retrieve their contents. This talk will give a brief overview of the following topics: (1) Computing music similarity using either the audio-signal or the internet (and Google). (2) Classifying music according to predefined genres or finding clusters of similar items. (3) Visualizing music collections for efficient exploration.
