Abstract
The OMRAS2 project represents several years of discussion, preparation and hard
work - and that was just to get it funded. It follows on from
the seminal OMRAS project, which claimed the world's first symbolic
music retrieval from a polyphonic audio query over a meaningful
test collection.
OMRAS2 will last 42 months and funds 132 man-months of research
effort. Its aim is to provide a distributed research environment
for Music Informatics scientists, Music Information Retrieval
researchers and Computational Musicologists.
This brief talk will outline the project and will attempt to
kindle interest in the community, hoping that this will lead
to an even bigger effort from UK and other researchers.
