Similarity Measurements in Chopin Mazurka Performances

Abstract

A Presentation of basic timing and loudness data extracted from over 250 performances of Chopin mazurkas's along with various visualization tools and other measurement techniques to attempt to identify similarity and differences amongst pianists. In particular, timescapes will be discussed, which show the best correlation between a particular performance and all others for a particular composition.
