MSc in Wireless Networks - Physical Pathway

A convergence of technologies is occurring right now. The technologies behind wide-area wireless networking and mobile telephony infrastructures are in the process of merging to provide an infrastructure that offers ubiquitous access to information, anywhere, anyplace, and anytime.

This programme is aimed at graduates planning to work in wireless telecommunications sector, especially those concerned with the radio aspects. The programme covers topics ranging across all layers in the wireless and mobile networking fields, but with particular emphasis on the physical layer of wireless cellular telephony, ad-hoc networks and wireless LANs. Included are in-depth studies on antenna design for mobile networks and Electromagnetics aspects.

During this programme you will be taught by members of staff from the world leading Antennas and Electromagnetics research group and will therefore be exposed to the latest thinking and research in these areas.

At the end of the programme the graduate will be equipped with the skills needed for a wide range of jobs in the expanding telecommunications industry, with particular emphasis on those that are relevant to the needs of wireless equipment manufacturers.
